Viruses can be spread by contact with bodily fluids containing infected substances, such as saliva, urine and semen. Bacteria is usually spread directly from surfaces or objects contaminated with bacteria.

Viruses can get into our bodies through cuts and scrapes on the skin, bites, and other injuries. They may also enter through the nose, mouth, eyes, ears, vagina, rectum , or anus.

Bacteria can enter our bodies through wounds, cuts, scrapes, burns, insect stings, or other breaks in our skin. They can also enter our bodies from food, water, soil, dust, and animals.

Both bacteria and viruses can cause illness. But viruses do not have the ability to multiply within their hosts. They can only infect living cells and cause illness.

Bacteria may spread to other people and cause sickness. They can infiltrate other parts of the body. To kill them, we must use antibiotics.

The Best Diet - Which One Is Right To You?

My current health, my personal goals and lifestyle will determine the best diet for me. There are many diets available, some good and others not so good. Some diets work for some people, while others are not. So what should I do? How can I make the right choice?

This article aims at answering these questions. It begins with an overview of the different diets today. The pros and cons of each diet are then discussed. Then, we will discuss which diet is the best.

To begin, let's take a quick look at the different types of diets.

Diet Types

There are three types of diets available: ketogenic, high-protein, and low fat. Let's briefly discuss them below.

Low Fat Diets

A low-fat diet restricts fat intake. This is done through reducing the intake of saturated fats (butter, cream cheese, etc.) It is possible to replace these saturated fats with unsaturated ones (olive oil or avocados). If you want to lose weight fast and easily, then a low fat diet is often recommended. This kind of diet could cause problems like constipation or heartburn and indigestion. If a person doesn’t receive enough vitamins from their foods, this can lead to vitamin deficiency.

High Protein Diets

High-protein diets limit carbohydrates and favor proteins. These diets have higher protein levels than other diets. These diets can help increase muscle mass and decrease calories. However, they might not provide enough nutrition for those who need to eat frequently. They are not suitable for all people because they can be restrictive.

Ketogenic Diets

Ketogenic diets are also known as keto diets. They are high in fat, moderately high in protein and low in carbohydrates. They are commonly used by athletes and bodybuilders, as they allow them train harder and more frequently without getting tired. To avoid side effects such as fatigue, nausea, headaches, or other unpleasant side effects, you must strictly adhere to their instructions.

What does "vitamin" actually mean?

Vitamins are organic substances found naturally in food. Vitamins are essential for our bodies to absorb nutrients from the foods we eat. Vitamins are not made by the body, so they must be obtained through food.

There are two types of vitamins: water soluble and fat soluble. Water soluble vitamins dissolve easily in water. These include vitamin C (thiamine), Vitamin B1 (riboflavin), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (niacin), Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), Vitamin C, B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (niacin), and Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the liver, fatty tissue and kidneys. Vitamin D, E, K and A are some examples.

Vitamins are classified according their biological activity. There are eight major vitamin groups:

  • A - essential for normal growth and maintenance of health.
  • C – essential for proper nerve function.
  • D - Vital for healthy bones and teeth
  • E is needed for good reproduction and vision.
  • K - required for healthy muscles and nerves.
  • P - vital for building strong bones andteeth.
  • Q - aids digestion and absorption of iron.
  • R – Required for the formation of red blood vessels.

The recommended daily allowance of vitamins (RDA), varies according to age, gender, physical condition, and other factors. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, (FDA), sets the RDA value.

For adults 19 years and over, the RDA of vitamin A is 400mg per day. Pregnant mothers need 600 micrograms per days because it is vital for the development and growth of their baby. Children ages 1-8 require 900 micrograms per day. Infants under one year of age require 700 micrograms per day, but this amount decreases to 500 micrograms per day between 9 months and 12 months of age.

Children between the ages 1--18 years old who are overweight or obese require 800 micrograms per Day, while those who are overweight or obese need 1000 micrograms. To meet their nutritional needs, children underweight and obese require 1200 micrograms a day.

Children aged 4-8 years old who have been diagnosed as having anemia require 2200 micrograms of vitamin C per day.

Adults over 50 years of age need 2000 micrograms per day for general health. Because of their higher nutrient needs, women who are pregnant or nursing need 3000 mg per day.

Adults over 70 years of age need 1500 micrograms per day since they lose about 10% of their muscle mass each decade.

Women who have been pregnant or are lactating require more than the RDA. Pregnant women require 4000 micrograms daily during pregnancy, and 2500 micrograms every day after birth. Breastfeeding mothers need 5000 micrograms per day when breast milk is being produced.
